'Minecraft: Story Mode' Wii U News: No Release Date Seen Yet

While the first episode of "Minecraft: Story Mode" is arriving on various platforms, namely Android, iOS, PC (Windows and OS X), PS4, PS3 and PS Vita and the Xbox One and Xbox 360, this month, there is still no word when it will be arriving on the Nintendo Wii U. The video game is described as "an episodic point-and-click graphic adventure video game" that is based on "Minecraft," a building and survival game originally developed by Mojang. "Minecraft: Story Mode," on the other hand, is being developed by Telltale Games.

The game is said to come in five episodes. Players need to search for items, answer puzzles and converse with non-playable characters in order to get the whole picture and decide on next steps from there. These conversations are done through "conversation trees." Each decision will have an effect on the game and how it progresses in the next episodes.

According to an earlier report in Nintendo Life, Telltale Games earlier announced that they are definitely working on a Wii U version of the game. In their announcement about the release date of the first episode on most of the platforms, they also said that it will be arriving on the Nintendo Wii U and the PlayStation Vita soon, but definitely later than October 15.

In another Nintendo Life report, it was cited that the arrival of "Story Mode" may pave the way for the original "Minecraft" game to find its way on the Nintendo Wii U console soon. It noted that "Minecraft" is available on all platforms, except for the Wii U. According to the report, if "Story Mode" is based on or built on the "Minecraft" game engine, having "Story Mode" configured for Wii U may mean that it will port the "Minecraft" game engine to the Wii U. If this is the case, this may make it easier for Mojang to release the full version of the original game for Nintendo, after all this time.
