Morgan Freeman Falls Asleep On-Air (VIDEO)

Morgan Freeman became the victim of drowsiness during a live television interview this week, embarrassingly nodding off on-air.

The venerated actor was discussing his latest film "Now You See Me" with Seattle's FOX affiliate Q13 news this week when he had trouble staying awake.

Alongside his co-star Michael Caine, Freeman was seated with his hands crossed on his lap when his eyes slowly closed during the early-morning interview.

Fortunately, Caine did most of the talking, and explained the magic tricks found in the upcoming film.

Later on in the " target="_blank">clip, the 75-year-old actor awakens and nods in agreement with Caine before answering a question from the interviewer.

Ironically, Freeman's voice is considered one of the most famous in the world- one people find soothing, and one report joked that the actor's internal monologue had probably coaxed him to sleep.

Furthermore, several of Freeman's' fans took to Twitter with jokes about the sleepy interview.

"This coffee isn't working fast enough, I'm about to pull a Morgan Freeman," joked Tracey.

People magazine referred to Freeman's past role as God in "Bruce Almighty," posting to Twitter: "Being God is exhausting! Morgan Freeman falls asleep during TV interview."

"Now You See Me" also stars Isla Fisher, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson and Jesse Eisenberg.

The crime thriller follows a group of illusionists known as the Four Horsemen who use their magic show as a cover to rob the wealthy elite and then give the stolen money to people who lost everything during the economic crisis.

The film hits theaters on May 31. Watch the trailer " target="_blank">here.

"Come in close because the more you think you see the easier it will be to fool you," Freeman narrates at the beginning of "Now You See Me" trailer.
