Moto X Force Rumors: Shatterproof Smartphone Arriving December?

Rumors of an upcoming Motorola smartphone, the Moto X Force, have been emerging with an end-of-the-year release date on the horizon.

Tipster @upleaks, who has been actively posting images of the alleged new handset Motorola is unveiling soon, has emerged with a new rumor on a Chinese social media site, Weibo, pointing to a December release date for the shatterproof phone.

Initially reported by Mobipicker as under development at Motorola, rumors about the Moto X Force have since picked up steam, with more information pouring in and making the rounds online. The device is part of the smartphone line that includes the Moto X Play released in August, and the Moto X Style, which is expected to be released this month.

Codenamed "the Bounce," presumably because it is expected to remain unscathed despite falling and bouncing off the hard surfaces, the Moto X Force will be launched in some regions as the Moto Bounce.

The 5.43-inch smartphone is reported to feature a shatterproof 1440 x 2560 QHD resolution display over a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC, and supported by 3GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage.

Speculations have also pointed toward the device coming equipped with four microphones for improved noise reduction.

The Moto X Force is reportedly shipping with a 21MP rear camera, and a 5MP front shooter with an accompanying LED flash, with the phone powered by a larger-than-usual 3,760 battery.

Based on photos leaked by @upleaks, the device will feature dual speaker grills situated below the screen, showing a considerable amount of space between each grille. There are speculations the space will accommodate a fingerprint sensor which is par for the course in a majority of flagship devices emerging this year.

The Moto X Force is speculated to be priced at upwards of $600, with @upleaks giving a specific $628 price point, owing to the phone's shatterproof nature.
