'Mr. Robot' Season 3 Episode 4 Spoilers: Elliot and Darlene Plan Their Next Move
Darlene (Carly Chaikin) and Elliot (Rami Malek) will talk things through in the upcoming episode of "Mr. Robot."
In the episode titled "eps3.3_m3tadatapar2," the promo shows the siblings meeting up and discussing their next option. Previously, it was revealed that Darlene had agreed to work with Dom (Grace Gummer) and the FBI. She sold Elliot out and exposed his part in the Five/Nine Hack. In the clip, Darlene seems to be convincing her brother that what they have started before is long over. Elliot, however, is convinced he is barely getting started.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, writer-producer Kor Adana discussed Darlene's motives in becoming the FBI's human source. According to him, the character is just like Angela (Portia Doubleday) in a sense that they both want what is best for Elliot. Although they are keeping a lot of secrets for now, everything that they have done will make sense soon. Darlene may look like she is betraying Elliot, but what she has actually been doing is keeping him safe.
"Well, it definitely sets up some great tension and drama for Darlene. The competing agendas and loyalties echo our overall themes of duality and disintegration. It also mirrors what's happening with Angela in a way. You have two characters who are the closest to Elliot, yet they're playing him in different ways. They also believe wholeheartedly that this is the best way to protect him and everyone else. I do believe that Darlene is acting in a way that protects Elliot and her, even though she's not being completely honest with him," Adana said.
Meanwhile, the promo shows Tyrell (Martin Wallstrom) trying to sever his ties with Elliot. He says that the old friend he once knew is gone. Tyrell must be feeling scared with the hacker's split personality. He never knows when Edward (Christian Slater) will take over. It was him who ordered Tyrell to shoot Elliot when he refused to work with the Dark Army.
"Mr. Robot" season 3 airs Wednesdays, at 10 p.m. EDT on USA Network.
