'NCIS New Orleans' season 2 episode 2 spoilers and pilot recap: A new villain for the new season

In the next episode of "NCIS New Orleans" entitled "Shadow Unit," the official synopsis reads, the team investigates the murder of a blogger known for exposing government corruption and discovers a dark secret about a joint Navy and CIA humanitarian mission in Bolivia.

This season aims to be more fun since it features more music. The show will feature a crossover with 'NCIS.' The team also gets bigger as it expands and welcomes two new members in Sonja Percy and Patton Plame. Brody will be sporting a new look, while LaSalle will have an emotional arc. Brody will have some new love interests, while Doctor Wade has a new responsibility as a mother when she adopts the two boys she fostered. The mother of Brody will be introduced, while the father of Pride might return.

The second season began when an IED was set off on a public bridge that ruined a simple military exercise. A former Navy Officer named Mark Yaden, who had a grudge against the navy because he was dishonorably discharged, was being hunted by the team since they believed that he was behind the bombings because of a candy wrapper with his fingerprint on it.

Yaden noticed the military presence but he did not want to be taken alive so he killed himself. The last thing Yaden said before he died was "Sic Semper Tyrannis," which was a famous quote from John Wilkes Booth. The team discovered that Yaden liked to rock climb and they ended up capturing his girlfriend Darla, who belonged to a separatist group.

The team discovered Brant Boudreau, also known as The Father. He was a modern-day revolutionist, who had brought all the separatists together. The bombing on the bridge was his idea, but his plan was bigger than just the bridge. He planned to target a naval ship with an even bigger missile.

In the end, it was discovered that The Father was dead and that the whole thing was being orchestrated by Zed Hastings, the second in command who bombed the navy because the Chinese paid him to. Zed was not captured and it was discovered that Zed had put a price on Agent Pride's head.

"NCIS New Orleans" airs every Tuesday.
