Ndamukong Suh Lying About Car Crash Details?

Ndamukong Suh, Detroit Lions’ defensive tackle, got into a car accident this past weekend, and now two women involved are saying he made false claims during the incident.

Suh, who is currently serving a two-game suspension from the NFL due to unethical playing, crashed into a tree, light pole and drinking fountain Saturday in Portland, Ore. The 24-year-old told authorities that there were no injuries in the crash, and that the incident happened while he was trying to avoid a stopped taxi.

While Suh told authorities that there were no injuries to report, Sgt. Pete Simpson of Portland Police Department said two women, who claimed to be passengers of the taxi, told a different story. One woman reportedly had bruises, while the other suffered a cut to her forehead that required stitches and a black eye.

One of the women, who chose to remain anonymous in the media, said Suh tried to downplay her injuries.

“I just said, ‘I’m hurt and I need to go to the hospital,” the woman told KGW-TV in Portland.

Suh responded by telling her, “You’re fine.”

In the interview with KGW, the victim gave her account of the crash.

“When the light turned green, he floored it,” the woman said. “I just remember going so fast and it was violent and just getting thrown around like rag dolls.”

The initial police report was revised to include one serious injury out of four people traveling in the car Suh was driving. Although Suh promised to amend the report, one of the women involved in the crash ended up making the revisions when the football star failed to do so.

Simpson told KGW-TV that none of the passengers filed an official complaint about Suh driving recklessly.

"At no point did anyone there tell an officer that (Suh) was driving out of control," Simpson said. "The crash doesn't meet our threshold for investigation, which is vulnerable road user, DUI, or serious trauma injury."
