To help out in her hour of need, fellow fixer Leo Bergen, played by Paul Adelstein, will step in.

Olivia's fans would have been anguished at the sight of Olivia being threatened and her reputation ripped to pieces in the last episode. The creators of the show very superbly blended in what is happening to women in the real world and the online and media threats they receive. Olivia faced racist and sexist remarks by the so-called enlightened press. She also got messages from people threatening to do bad things to her or kill her.

Olivia's character arc can only go up from here. The fact that she reaches out to Leo to help her out hints at Olivia getting back to her old self and fighting it out.

From the promo, it looks like Leo has the ambitious idea of putting Olivia on TV and turning what the public thinks is a sordid affair into something else, a tender love story perhaps? He tells the group at Pope & Associates, "We're going to take what the public views as a tawdry affair and you're going to spin it!"

In today's world, this would seem a very risky plot line as in the real world, the public judges the slightest act of their President very critically. Will the public melt when the affair is presented as a love story? Leo is convinced of this strategy and says, "Everyone loves a love story."

Catch the episode on October 22 on ABC.
