'Outlander' Season 2 Cast News, Update: Stage Actress Audrey Brisson Joins Cast as Sister Angelique

New casting update for the upcoming second season of Starz's hit period drama series "Outlander" points out to a renowned stage performer joining the show's growing cast list as a nun.

A report from Enstars cited TVWise.co.UK saying that theatre actress Audrey Brisson has now joined the "Outlander" family to play as Sister Angelique, a nun at L'Hopital Des Anges in Paris.

Fans of the hit TV series may recall Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitrona Balfe) boarding a boat heading for France. The upcoming season will find the couple in the said French hospital. In the book series, Claire will utilize her medical expertise and volunteer to work for the said establishment. There she will come in contact with the pious person.

For now, the site said, Brisson's casting is only for a guest starring role. However, sources for the publication said that there's a "potential" that the role will become a recurring one.

As reported earlier, Season 2 of the show will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second book of the "Outlander" novel series titled "Dragonfly in Amber."

According to executive producer Ronald Moore, the new chapter of the TV show will deal more on the French aristocracy.

"They're going to Paris, and they're going to be dealing with the French aristocracy. So you're already in a completely different planet than where we were with Season 1," the executive producer told TV Line.

"It's going to be a whole different tone, a whole different … playing the story as much more political. We're dealing with the Jacobite Rebellion. It's much more about deception, and lies within lies, and the gossips and the surroundings of Paris. And dinner parties, and going to the court of Louis the XV — and if you know those books, there's St. Germain, and there's Master Raymond, and there's more of an occult feeling to a lot of that stuff. [Plus], she's pregnant, and he's got the aftermath of Jack Randall," Moore went on to reveal.

"Outlander" Season 2 is slated to return to Starz later this year.
