Pakistani 'Solar Boys' Who Suffer Paralysis Once Sun Sets Baffles Medical Experts

A case of two boys in Pakistan continues to be a mystery to the medical experts in the country as they lie in a vegetative state as the sun sets every single day.

The two boys become a complete opposite of their normal and playful selves every evening, and the doctors in Islamabad can't still offer a good explanation for it yet as they, too, are baffled why the two patients become quiet and unable to move and eat once the dark has set in.

Associated Press reported via Inside Edition that, for Dr. Javed Akram, a medicine professor at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the mysterious case of the boys is a challenge.

"Our doctors are doing medical tests to determine why these kids remain active in the day but cannot open their eyes, why they cannot talk or eat when the sun goes down," the doctor said as he visited the boys in the hospital.

The doctor has also revealed that the Pakistani government is spending for the medical care of the two boys.

The two boys-Abdul Rasheed, nine, and his brother Shoaib Ahmed, 13- come from a poor village situated in Quetta. In an attempt to find out the possible factors that have led to their condition, soil and air samples from their environment had been gathered. Blood samples have also been extracted from the two boys. The soil, air, and blood samples will be sent abroad for closer examination by medical pundits.

However, for the father of the two boys, the condition of his sons may not really require lots of brains to be explained. For him, his sons simply get their energy from the sun. In fact, the two boys are dubbed as 'solar boys' because of their condition.

The doctors think otherwise, though, as they have observed that the two act normally at daytime even if they are in a dark room
