'Person of Interest' Season 5 News, Cast, Spoilers: Sarah Shahi Returns as Shaw

Fans of Sarah Shahi's character, Sameen Shaw, have been waiting for her return to "Person of Interest," and as Shahi reveals her comeback, fans can expect that big things are coming.

Shahi recently had an interview with TVLine where she talked about what the audience can expect from her return. She says, "We will learn what happened to Shaw over the last nine, 10 months, however long it is she's been missing … Everything that's going on in that episode [featuring her return]." She also points out why she had decided to make a comeback, as she explains, "These are the reasons why I said yes to this show. It's everything that I wanted to play in this character, all the places I wanted to go to as an actress but never had the opportunity, and they wrote it for me."

Shahi took a break from the series as she has been on maternity leave since the middle of season 4, but fans no longer have to wait as she confirms her return. "I go back in September — full-time," Shahi shares with TvLine.

Elsewhere, another actor that viewers can expect to enter the story line will be none other than "Fargo's" Josh Close; however, his character is still unknown for now. Co-showrunner Greg Plageman gave away very little details and teased Close's character to be "very interesting." It is reported that the season is the best one yet, which was strongly agreed by "Person of Interest" actor Kevin Chapman, as he shared, "I honestly can say that Season 5 is the best season we've ever had. The action, the performances, the subject matter…. Everything. They've really gone above and beyond."

As of now, the show is up for a nomination for People's Choice Awards. There isn't any set date for the return of season 5 of "Person of Interest," but it is expected to air on CBS sometime in 2016.
