Initially, fans were a bit worried that the upcoming games will only feature minor tweaks from the existing "Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon" titles. Trailers that were released, however, teased significant changes in the storyline, which will revolve around the Ultra Beasts, the Comicbook.com report noted.

Furthermore, fans can also expect to see three new Pokemon added in the games while it is also rumored that Alolan Forms will also make an appearance. In addition, Team Rocket will make a comeback, according to the download card. An official announcement, however, has not been made by the developer.

Aside from this week's major announcement, fans can also look forward to the release of the Pokemon-themed New 2DS XL on Nov. 3. The handheld console from Nintendo will feature a design that draws inspiration from the famous Poke Ball. It sports the same clamshell design as the standard 2DS XL, but the top portion carries hits of the Poke Ball design.

Polygon noted that this will be the first time that Nintendo will release a handheld device inspired by the popular franchise. In the past, the gaming giant has released a special edition console with a Pikachu-themed design.
