Prince George Bath Time 'Quite Painful,' Dad William Jokes

Prince George is apparently quite a handful when it comes to bath time. His father, Prince William, jokes that bath time was actually "painful" but he held out hope that one day George would learn to enjoy the water.

"At the moment bath time is quite painful, but hopefully donning a snorkel and mask might calm him down," William joked at a ceremony where he took the presidency of the British Sub-Aqua Club from his father, Prince Charles.

The presidency was handed down by Charles, who had enjoyed numerous years of reign. Both Prince Charles and Prince William enjoy the water and water sports such as snorkeling, scuba diving, polo, surfing, and body boarding. Now both men hope that George will soon be enjoying the water and partaking in several water sports of his own choosing.

The ceremony was a rather casual occasion, with William in a wet suit and donning a snorkel and mask while he was in the pool. Chairman of the Sub-Aqua Society Eugene Farrell showed William a photo of Charles in the surf when he was younger and described the elder Prince as "quite buff."

"Pa, you should be pleased!" William teased his dad.

Both William and Kate are members of the British Sub-Aqua Society and enjoy regularly partaking of water sports and recreation. While the couple lived in Wales, Kate often went diving. William described himself as a "fair weather diver" at the event but noted that he would "like to get back into British waters."

William is more of an air man, frequently flying helicopters and always speaking of his love of helicopters and airplanes. He worked for several years in the Air Rescue division of the military and rumors state that he is likely to return to the skies in September, when his "transition year" from the military to royal life is over.

Prince George turns 1 later this month.
