'Project Runway All Stars' Premieres Tonight (VIDEO)
This is the night fans of “Project Runway” have been waiting for -- the season premiere of “Project Runway All Stars.” Those familiar with the show will find at least one favorite to champion during the competition but will certainly notice a few differences.
For starters, Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia have all been replaced. Supermodel Angela Lindvall is the new host, with Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman serving as judges. Replacing mentor Tim Gunn is “Marie Claire” Editor-in-Chief Joann Coles, who has appeared as a judge during the regular seasons of “Runway.”
The show features a variable who’s who of former contestants, including Anthony Williams, April Johnston, Austin Scarlett, Elisa Jimenez, Gordana Gelhausen, Jerell Scott, Kara Janx, Kenley Collins, Michael Costello, Mila Hermanovski, Mondo Guerra, Rami Kashou, and Sweet P.

Joanna Cole spoke with The Huffington Post about her new role and said, “What’s fun about this show for the viewer is they already know all the contestant, but the other judges and I are new, and the presenter is new, so it’s like a reverse of the usual.”
When compared to beloved host Tim Gunn, Cole stated, “I feel the enormous weight of Tim Gunn’s brilliance on my shoulders. But Tim and I are good friends, and honestly, if I can be an acorn under his oak tree, I would be thrilled,” Cole stated.
One final twist this season: there will be no immunity granted to weekly challenge winners.
“Project Runway All Stars” premieres tonight on Lifetime at 9:00 p.m. (EST).
