'Prometheus 2' Release Date: March 2016 Date Postponed for 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' Movie

Fox initially scheduled a "Prometheus" sequel for March 4, 2016, but that won't happen yet as Tim Burton's purported adaptation for "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" is rumored to replace the release date instead.

Director Ridley Scott will not likely to helm the second installment because "The Martian," starring Matt Damon, is already close to its launching date, FashionStyle.com reported.

As of this article's publication date, there are still no official statements announced regarding the upcoming film's casting and production developments.

It has been reported though that the project's script was already completed by Jack Palgen. Other sources however indicated that writer Michael Green revised the whole script. Green is also writing Ridley Scott's currently-untitled "Blade Runner" installment.

Unconfirmed claims also pointed out that actors Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace will reprise their roles respectively as David, an android butler, and Elizabeth Shaw, a God-believing archaeologist.

The Daily Mail reported that the "Alien" director was spotted scouting locations in Australia which is probably to be used for the filming of "Prometheus 2" and "Blade Runner 2."

As for the plot, the website supported the speculations that "Prometheus 2" will serve as a quasi-"Alien" prequel and is expected to follow Elizabeth Shaw and David's journey to the world of the "creators" (the Engineers).

Updates and official announcements are likely to be expected anytime soon this year.
