PS4 Launch Titles: 33 Games Announced with Strong Showing of Indie Games

Sony unveiled their PS4 launch date as November 15, and while the Xbox One date is still unknown, both consoles released their day one launch titles.

Sony announced 33 titles to Microsoft's 23, and is offering more exclusive games.

"We have always been committed to making next generation products but now we're increasingly focused on making those products for next-generation gamers," said Jim Ryan, President and CEO of SCEE reports the Telegraph.

PS4 games announced according to Forbes are: Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Driveclub, FIFA 14, Just Dance 2014, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, Madden NFL 25, NBA 2K14, NBA LIVE, Need for Speed: Rivals, Skylanders: Swap Force, and Watch Dogs.

Available for download only is: Basement Crawl, Blacklight, Contrast, Counterspy, DC Universe, Doki-Doki Universe, Flower, Hohokum, Minecraft, N++, Pinball Arcade, Planetside 2, Pool Nation Extreme, ResoGun, Super Motherland, Tiny Brains, War Thunder, Warframe.

The gaming giant showed off a number of trailers at Gamescon yesterday for Rime, Grand Turismo 6, Minecraft, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag.
Over 1 million PS4 pre-orders have come in so far according to Sony.

"This is strong given Sony sold less than 1M units of PS3 at launch in 4Q'06," said Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia, "and supports our thesis that the upcoming cycle will ramp up faster than the last one."

Sony will launch the system in 32 countries worldwide and will be $399 U.S. and £349 in the UK. In addition, the console's predecessor the PS3, will have its priced lowered to $199.

"Sony's undercutting of the Xbox one price creates a real challenge for Microsoft in creating a perception of value, as Microsoft's announcement of a FIFA 2014, and possible Call of Duty: Ghosts, bundle may not be enough to overcome the price gap in a direct comparison," said DuBose Cole, media strategist at Mindshare UK to the Telegraph.
