PS4 vs Xbox One Winner: 'The Only Option Right Now is the PS4'

The PS4 versus Xbox One war has taken another turn as a prominent tech magazine told readers Playstation 4 is the console to buy.

Edge magazine front paged the battle and proclaimed that Xbox had "blown it" when it comes to which system to buy reports MCVuk.com.

The magazine even pictured the PS4 with the caption, "This is your next console, why the only option right now is the PS4."

Now the magazine cover is making waves over the Internet and through tech forums and gamers and is slated to hit shelves on July 4. This is a huge blow to Microsoft as they are trying to change some of the initial ideas of the Xbox One to help ease the backlash against certain decisions.

"Sony crushed Microsoft at E3 2013," the magazine said in their conclusion of the two systems. Edge had also previously proclaimed the PS3 as the winner of the last generation of consoles.

Some of the key factors regarding their praise of the PS4 may involve graphics, indie games, and online play. The Xbox One has been said to make things a little more complicated for users and developers with weird but perhaps next generation policies in place.

According to Techland.time.com, Microsoft is infuriating developers of Indie games because they can't publish on the Xbox Live network and instead have to find a publisher and sign a deal of exclusivity if signing on with Xbox.

Essentially, that would take away the entire notion of being an Indie game. In addition, if the developer would like to make changes to a game, they would have to pay to do so.

For Indie companies these charges and limitations could totally wipe them out since their games are made cheaply without the backing of a large-scale company.

"Why do we need a publisher when we self-finance our games, we build our own IP, we manage our own IP and we've turned nearly two million units online as indie publishers sold – not free downloads? Why? What's wrong with us?" said Lorne Lanning, president and co-founder of Oddworld Inhabitants to Eurogamer. "Who's in touch with their audience? And who seems out of touch with their audience? All we know is we've tried to get our games on their platform and we can't do it – and I even helped them release the box."

Microsoft also combats the self-proclaimed superior graphics of the PS4 by saying

"The problem is that Sony decided to go out and publish a bunch of numbers, which are in some ways meaningless. Because this isn't like 1990, when it was 16-bit versus 32-bit," Albert Penello, Xbox product planning boss told Gamingbolt.com. "As a matter of fact, they actually go out and they talk about how proud they are about their off-the-shelf parts. Our guys'll say, we touched every single component in the box and everything there is tweaked for optimum performance."

He feels users should focus on the great memories and experiences they have while using the console rather than who has superior graphics or features.
