USA Network renews another season for "Queen of the South"

Three days to go and the "Queen of the South" is down to its season finale. It took a long while for the series to get to the screen, however. A week before season one is about to hit its final leg, USA Network shared a very good news to the series' followers: it will be renewed for another season.

Veteran Producer and Screenwriter Natalie Chaidez of the 12 Monkeys will join in the herd of the show's makers.

If you've been through so many things for the past week, you may need some refreshers of the last episode.

'Queen of the South' Episode 12 Recap

The 12^{th episode started with Teresa and Brenda looking for ways to earn money to acquire their immigration papers. With things going really hectic for present-day Teresa, her future self pops up and re-assures her that everything will be alright and it's okay to be scared.}

Later on, Brenda and Teresa found themselves inside a tunnel where a passage with a crank wheel was located. This is the way that will lead them to their future. However, as soon as Teresa opened the door, they found dead bodies everywhere.

Because of this, both women went out of the tunnel and argued if they should stay or go. Afterwards, they found themselves being threatened with a gun by two men. This left them with no choice, but to go. Both women were tied up on chairs later on. They were held by these men, who are members of Epifanio's group, for one thing: information.

Epifanio is a politician who is now facing a lot of stress for the upcoming elections. He also recently faced cartel allegations.

Teresa told one of the men that they will no longer be able to keep what they saw as a secret. She threatened him that if they get killed, people will eventually know. She convinced him that if they go missing, it will not do any good to Epifanio's image. Teresa also asked for $250,000 along with their freedom. The man agreed to what Teresa asked him to do. This is where the present-day Teresa and future Teresa are starting to fuse.

The Show's Performance

Even though the show started very rough, with over a year of delays and postponements, it maintained a great number of followers in USA. It ranked as the top cable entertainment program every Thursday and it recorded an average of 2.26 MM total viewers in Live +7.

The finale episode for season one will air on September 15 at 9 p.m. on USA Network.
