RazrMax Could be Next Successor to Motorola Droid Razr

The Motorola Droid Razr is one of Verizon’s most popular smartphones released this year, and according to some recently leaked EXIF data – the successor to this device may come soon.

The data mentions a device dubbed the Motorola Droid RazrMax that seems to be branded with a similar name showing the possibility of it being then next installment in the Droid Razr smartphone series.

In addition, with the inclusion of “Max” in the new smartphone’s name, it can be deducted that this device will be a significant upgrade from the current Droid Razr and will probably land on Verizon wireless.

The “Max” could also mean that the device will include more memory or a more powerful battery.

Gizmocrunch reported that the EXIF data made its way to Picasa as Motorola engineers test the new smartphone’s image sharing functionality.

The original Droid Razr debuted in October and it was highly anticipated before its launch.

The device took on the name Droid Razr in honor of one of the most popular cellphones of all time, the Razr.

Just like its namesake, the Droid Razr is an extremely thin device at 7.1mm thickness and features many other impressive specifications.

It also topped CNet’s list and took the position for the best smartphone of 2011 earning an outstanding rating on the website.

The Droid RazrMax will probably follow its example in the thickness department to keep the name alive.

The handset dubbed “the world’s thinnest smartphone” features a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 16 GB of internal storage, 1 GB of RAM, microSD slot, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED gorilla glass display, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and an extremely thin frame.
