'Reign' season 3 spoilers: Battle of the three queens

The second season of the smash series "Reign" ended with a shocking twist as Catherine was disowned by Francis and stripped of her land and titles after it was discovered that she was behind the kidnapping of Lola and John. Catherine went to Queen Elizabeth and proposed to band together, in order to destroy their mutual enemy, Mary Queen of Scots.

In the upcoming season, the show will head to England. The show will cut back and forth from France and England. Fans will get to see the Elizabethan court, which will be significant throughout the course of the season. Fans might even see Elizabeth as less of a villain as they get to know her.

Showrunner Laurie McCarthy spoke about the significance of the scenes in England. "They're dealing with bigger issues and yet the stories are really personal. When we get to the court of Elizabeth, I was excited to play the more intimate personal stories for Elizabeth just like we did for Mary when we were first meeting her. But we meet Elizabeth a little bit later in her role; she's a little bit more sophisticated. She's a few years older than Mary, which allows for some sexually charged court intrigue," she said.
