Rihanna and Chris Brown Back Together?

Infamous exes Rihanna and Chris Brown simultaneously released remixes to one another's latest singles Sunday night, sparking rumors of a relationship.

Speculators say they have not only made amends, but are working together on many new musical projects together as well in recent weeks.

Brown recorded his own version of Rihanna's "Birthday Cake," her most recent single from her new album Talk That Talk. Meanwhile, Rihanna remixed Brown's "Turn Up The Music," and included a video on her Twitter account the same day.

"Turn up the music remix #RihannaNavy #TeamBreezy enjoy!!!" wrote Rihanna hours after exchanging public messages with Brown.

"Its a download OVERLOAD!!!!" added the singer to her Twitter account following the announcement. "Working on more links for u guys, so errbody [sic] could have some #CAKE."

The musical releases occurred on Rihanna's 24th birthday Sunday, and Brown posted a message to the star using her real name ahead of the announcements.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBYN," wrote Brown.

"Thanks," replied Rihanna via Twitter shortly after.

Rihanna and 22-year-old Brown's apparent reconciliation has upset a number of people, which reportedly includes her mentor, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter.

Their public break up took place two years ago when Brown pled guilty to felony assault after viciously beating Rihanna.

Many people believe Brown has not displayed remorse for his actions, and critics accuse Rihanna of setting a poor example for young girls dealing with domestic violence.

In response to the critics about her musical collaboration with Brown, Rihanna tweeted, "I feel bad for that poor bandwagon… Trying its hardest to fit everyone. Music heals the world… we need more!"

She later added, "I'm so solid as a rock, they just can't stop me now!"

Fans and critics have speculated that perhaps the stars are using their dramatic past as a publicity stunt to promote Rihanna's Talk That Talk, which dropped Monday.

Brown posted a message assumed to have been an explanation of his and Rihanna's latest projects together.

"The pub and excitement of this industry/society is only surface! Really want us as a human race to unite! Bigger than music," wrote the singer.

Neither artist has confirmed the status of their relationship.
