Rihanna Grammy Red Carpet Dress Stuns, Singer Pays Whitney Houston Tribute

R&B singer Rihanna showed up on the Grammy red carpet wearing a black dress and frizzy blonde hair. The singer took the stage to perform, while also paying tribute to world-renowned R&B singer Whitney Houston.

Rihanna showed up Sunday night to the Grammy Awards in a custom Giorgio Armani gown. The gown was a low, v-cut black dress made of silk. The more simple look took fans by surprise.

"I'm surprised – I like it," wrote Boo on the Just Jared website.

"This is the biggest shocker I've seen so far at the Grammys! Rihanna looking classy and simple. Love it!" wrote Tara. She added, "I'm guessing it's because of Whitney though…"

The artist, who has been nominated for a Grammy Award, took the stage to perform with Coldplay, and decided to pay tribute to Whitney Houston. Rihanna added, "Make some noise for Whitney," to the middle of "We Found Love" right before she was joined by Coldplay.

According to PopSugar, Rihanna helped to style her own gown. Fans seemed to approve of her design abilities. "Gorgeous!! Love that dress " Steph wrote.

"Wow! Can't believe she kept it classy! More, please?" wrote ha ha.

Three years ago, Chris Brown was arrested after Rihanna reported to the police that she had been attacked. After the attack the singer's career took a slight detour. He was nominated for three Grammy's last year but when home empty handed, however Sunday night he won Best R&B Album for F.A.M.E.
