Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm Fight Update: 'Rowdy' Reveals She Contemplated Suicide After Loss

Former UFC bantamweight queen Ronda Rousey met the biggest disappointment of her mixed martial arts career when she experienced her first loss against current champion Holly Holm.

After a left kick to her jaw that happened in the second round of their fight at UFC 193 in November in Melbourne, Australia, "Rowdy" was engulfed in instant vulnerability. Her aura of invincibility came crashing down, even after a 12-fight undefeated streak and being branded as the "most dominant athlete alive" by Sports Illustrated.

Rousey kept herself in hiding after her devastating moment, except for brief interviews with TMZ and the hosting gig during the January 23rd episode of "Saturday Night Live." Despite these appearances, she never really spoke about how she felt after the fight.

It was only during an interview with veteran host Ellen DeGeneres when she appeared on the Tuesday edition of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" that she let out all her post-UFC 193 emotions. According to the 29-year-old fighter and former Olympic judoka, she actually bore suicidal thoughts after the fight.

"I was literally sitting there and like thinking about killing myself in that exact second. I'm like, 'I'm nothing.' I'm like 'What do I do anymore? And no one gives a s*** about me anymore without this,'" Rousey said, while not able to hold back her tears.

Ironically, Rousey's late father, Ron, took his own life while Rousey was still six years old. But according to Rousey, the mere thought of her current boyfriend, UFC heavyweight contender Travis Browne, immediately made her rethink what she was going to do as she already has plans to have a future with him.

"To be honest, I looked up and I saw my man Travis was standing up there and I looked up at him and I was like I need to have his babies," she said. "I need to stay alive."

Rousey also says she does not want any other fight except for a rematch with Holm. The latter, however, is already slated to face former title contender Miesha Tate at UFC 196 on March 5th.
