'Scorpion' Season 2 News, Update: Comic-Con Panelists Reveal 2 Big Announcements
On Thursday, the cast members and executive producer of CBS' hit TV drama series "Scorpion" appeared in this year's San Diego Comic-Con event to dish out details about Season 2.
Present during the occasion are Elyes Gabel, Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Jadyn Wong. They are joined by the show's boss Nicholas Wootton.
The group kicked off the session with two surprising big announcements.
The first was revealed by Wootton. According to the executive producer, rock star Gene Simmons will be making a cameo in the premiere of Season 2. The Kiss co-founder was in fact, present at the Con to sign autographs. It remains to be seen if Simmons will appear as himself or as a character.
Wootton went on to reveal that McPhee, who plays the character Paige Dineen and a former American Idol contestant, might once again sing this season.
The other big news is that, right after the "Supergirl" premiere, "Scorpion" will follow through with its 90-minute super-sized opening episode.
"It's going to be an incredible, big big episode for us," the showrunner said.
The members of the cast themselves were revealed to be under some tremendous pressure as the production for the next installment pushes through.
Right over at TV Line's Comic-Con suite, the stars were asked about what has been going on lately.
"We've been back to work three days, and we're already out of our minds," McPhee told the media outlet.
"Last night, we were saving Los Angeles from an atomic bomb," the actor who plays Toby in the show chimed in.
"Scorpion" Season 2 is slated to open on Sept. 21, 2015.
