'Shadow of the Colossus' Trailer Features 4K Vistas

More than a decade after it was first released, "Shadow of the Colossus" returns next year in all its remastered and remade glory.

The game, which is now developed by JAPAN Studios and Bluepoint Games, is scheduled to make its exclusive debut on the PlayStation 4 on February 6, 2018, Polygon reported. Apart from announcing the release date, Sony also unveiled a trailer during Sony's Paris Games Week 2017. The video teaser featured breathtaking landscapes and spectacular sceneries.

Interestingly, the trailer showcased something that would never be possible back in the day when the title was first released on PS2 in 2005. The upcoming remake now comes in 4K resolution, with the trailer shot using a PS4 Pro.

Meanwhile, SlashGear noted that much like other titles like "Spider-Man," "The Last of Us Part 2," and "God of War," which are all coming to Sony's flagship console, anticipation for "Shadow of Colossus" is equally high. The trailer did not show anything in terms of actual gameplay, and not much is expected to drastically change aside from the game's art, the report added.

As far as upcoming games are concerned, another highly-anticipated title scheduled to come out next year is "Metal Gear Survive" from Konami. Last week, the game developer confirmed via Twitter that the game is set for release in the U.S. on Feb. 20, 2018, and on Feb. 24 in Europe.

The game is now up for pre-order on Konami's official website and those who will pre-order will also receive a Survival Pack. The pack includes four gold-plated weapons, namely, a survival spear, a survival machete, a bat, and a sledgehammer.

In addition, the pack also comes with four survival scarves in pink, silver, green, and blue variants; plus a Kabuki face paint, Mother Base nameplate, and the Boxman accessory.

"Metal Gear Survive" is available for pre-order for $39.99 and will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
