Sony Xperia E4G Review, Specs Summary: Xperia With LTE Connectivity Launched

Sony quietly released its new 4G-LTE version of its Xperia E4 smartphone this month, announcing it will be available in the market by April.

Japanese consumer electronics manufacturer, Sony Mobile Communications unveiled its 4G-enabled Xperia E4 without fanfare early this February. The Sony Xperia E4G comes in both single and dual-SIM variants and will be priced at €129 ($147) when it is officially released at retailers in April.

The new handset is touted to be an amalgamation of the company's earlier launched budget smartphone, Xperia E4 and higher-end 4G LTE connectivity.

This new 4G version will feature a 4.7-inch screen (960x540p) and will run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with a faster 1.5 GHz MediaTek quad-core CPU and 1GB of RAM. It's 8GB inbuilt storage will be expandable via its built-in microSD card slot.

The E4G will have a 5MP LED flash-bearing rear camera, a 2MP front camera, and a 2300 mAh battery Sony claims will last as long as two days with its Battery Stamina and Ultra Stamina power saving modes.

The new handset will be available in black and white variants, and will feature a design keeping in line with the company's OmniBalance philosophy. Sporting a textured back panel, curved edges, and scratch resistant display, it will also be equipped with an aluminum power button (diamond-cut, according to Sony), and a stainless steel ring surrounding its rear-facing camera.

As one of Sony's lower-tier devices, the handset still offers users the quality and ease-of-use common to the company's other mobile devices, with the added bonus of lightning speed connectivity associated with 4G LTE.

The smartphone's simple set-up and two-day battery life is said to be consistent with Sony's premium technology and prime user experiences associated with their higher-end devices.
