Sony Xperia PP10 Leaked Ahead Of MWC 2016

Known tipster Evan Blass, who goes by the Twitter handle @evleaks has let the cat out of the bag for an upcoming Sony Xperia smartphone, reportedly called Sony Xperia PP10. Several reports, including ones from Android Authority and Gadgets 360, shared what these leaks were.

According to a report in Android Authority, the device, as described by Blass, has more rounded edges than most Sony Xperia phones previously released, stating that the Japanese company may have embraced the same aesthetic that most smartphone companies adhere to. The report also noted what looked like a fingerprint sensor that is built into the device's Power button which is now located in the middle part of its right side. The device's front glass is also described as something that looks like it's a 2.5D screen, which is not surprising considering this has been a trend among the latest devices.

In terms of the device's look, its back looks like it is made of brushed metal, or plastic that has the same effect. Based on the simulated screen shown in the image, the device may also allow multi-user profiles. It also looks like the device will not be bezel-less with the presence of bezels along the device's top and bottom.

This rumored device, however, is not likely to be the company's latest flagship device, the Xperia Z6. According to another report in the Xperia Blog, Sony was set to announce several new phones during the MWC, one of which will be powered with a MediaTex Helio P10 (MT6755) and will have a 720p display. This held true as one of Sony's new phones, the Xperia XA, has a MediaTek MT6755 processor and a 5" 720p display. It's not certain though if this is the device Blass leaked out.

All the devices that Sony will be announcing during the MWC are expected to be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

In another report in Gadgets 360, the same tipster also revealed that along with the new Xperia phone, a new pair of earbuds he called the "Smart Ear" device.
