Sony Xperia XZ vs iPhone 6S: Smartphones' Design, Display, User Interface and Camera Specs Compared; Which is Better?

Sony is back with a new smartphone called the Sony Xperia XZ. New Sony phones come faster than regular customers can keep up, and some are hopeful that the new device will make up for the company's previous let downs.

Sony Xperia XZ's body is made of Alkaleido, a new aluminum alloy. While the Xperia X Performance and Xperia X are also aluminum-brushed, the alloy used in XZ is quite different. In fact, it is warmer than your regular metallic smart device and looks sleek.

Similar to previous Sony smartphones, the Xperia XZ is a dull-shaped rectangle, but this time, curves are added on the smartphone's sides, making it easier to handle.

Meanwhile, the Apple iPhone 6S is shaped like your typical iPhones; thin, small, and handling is trouble-free. Like Sony, the body of the iPhone 6S is aluminum; cool and feels nice to touch.

The screen of the Xperia XZ is 5.2" full HD display, while that of the iPhone 6S is 4.7". Overall, the iPhone 6s seems to be easier to handle than the Xperia XZ, although both devices are really comfortable to hold.

Fingerprint scanners are available on the Xperia XZ as well as on the iPhone 6s. The iPhone 6s has a convenient mute switch, and the side controls are easily accessible with the thumb and the index finger. With Sony's latest device, the location of the volume rocker can improve, but it's nice that the device has a 2-step camera shutter key.

Display

Sony Xperia XZ has a 1080 x 1920 pixel screen, while the iPhone 6s' smaller screen has 750 x 1334 pixels. That's a density of 424 pixels per inch for the Xperia XZ and 326 pixels per inch for the iPhone 6s. Sony wins the pixel comparison, but while some users say they notice the lack of detail in using Apple, others say the images are still sharp.

The Xperia XZ runs with the Snapdragon 820 processor, 2900mAh battery plus fast charging, and a 3GB RAM with 32 giga bytes of storage.

Camera

Sony Xperia XZ has a remarkable 23 MP rear camera. The front camera is at 13 MP.Moreover, compared to previous Sony phones, this device has improved image stabilization, autofocus, exposure handling and dynamics.

The iPhone 6 has a 12 MP camera, much less than the Xperia XZ, but still competitive against most competitors. Sony is also better in terms of the camera software, providing intricate manual mode and additional features.

User Interface

Sony's customized Android user interface is one of the cleanest among Android-run smartphones. Sony Xperia XZ's interface colors blend well with the exterior. The phone comes with pre-loaded PlayStation and Sony apps that you can remove anyway. Overall, it is your archetypal Sony experience and fans will appreciate the familiarity.

The iPhone 6s uses the iOS 9 operating system, and is easier to use than the Xperia XZ interface. Of course, the Xperia XZ is still easy to use and is not as heavy as other Android-run smartphones.
