Respawn Provides Update on New Star Wars Game; New Visceral 'Star Wars' Game at Star Wars Celebration?

Apart from the release of "Star Wars: Episode 8 – The Last Jedi" later this year, fans can also expect to see new games inspired by the galaxy far, far away.

"Titanfall" developer, Respawn Entertainment, is currently working on a new "Star Wars" game, which they spoke a bit about in a recent blog post outlining their plans for the year.

They revealed that Stig Asmussen, who is known for his work on the "God of War" franchise, is current leading a group of developers "quietly working away on our Star Wars title."

However, fans should not expect specific details to come out soon. "That project is still wrapped in secrecy and we won't be talking about it for a while," Respawn emphasized.

Not much has been revealed about this "Star Wars" title since it was announced other than it will be an action-adventure video game based on the epic franchise.

Asmussen did promise in another blog post to "pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times." This commitment will be upheld as they build the game.

Those familiar with the work Respawn does should get a good idea of the quality that this "Star Wars" title will showcase when it comes out.

"Fans should expect the exemplary level of quality first established at Respawn with Titanfall, a game that epitomizes our studio's dedication to slick, larger-than-life action and fun, groundbreaking mechanics," Asmussen wrote.

Respawn's "Star Wars" title is not the only upcoming game inspired by the space opera. Visceral Games is also working on another.

Unlike Respawn's offering, this "Star Wars" game will reportedly be ready for showing as early as the Star Wars Celebration next month. The first trailer for it will reportedly be unveiled there along with some key details about the title.

The Star Wars Celebration, where the first ever "Star Wars: Episode 8" trailer is also expected to be shown, will be held on April 13 to 16.
