It already has been reported that the second season will take place in the year 1984. This means that the events following Season 1 will be happening a year after. Matt Duffer noted that the story of the second season will be darker and weirder. He added that as much as a lot of people already liked the first season, he is expecting more to like the second season.

Season 2 will most likely create more tension and that should be solved by the characters at the end. The upcoming season is already in the works and it will definitely not be the last.

The Duffer brothers already have an ending to the whole story. Matt Duffer has been looking into "Breaking Bad" as the model for the storyline of "Stranger Things". He said it already has an ending definitely intended for it ever since. He hopes that "Stranger Things" can be as complete as "Breaking Bad." He admitted that it was very difficult to develop the story, but it will soon finish.

The Show Will Have More Seasons

They also want to make the second season a sequel. The brothers want it to be more of a movie than a TV series. It can be recalled during the first season, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) was missing and that his friends went out looking for him. In the end the issue was resolved when Will was finally found and saved.

During the first season, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) was the most talked about character from the show. She then sacrificed herself to save her friends from the monster. To have her missing in the first season finale gives fans a cliffhanging conclusion to what might happen to Eleven in the next seasons to come.

It is most likely that she will be back for the second season and might be a part of a different dimension.

Fans are now waiting for an official announcement as to when season 2 will officially air.
