'Supernatural' Season 11 News, Cast, Spoilers: Jensen Ackles Teases an 'Intense' Mid-Season Finale

Despite being on the 11th season, "Supernatural" has been steadily well-received. After building a strong fanbase in the past decade, many still stay tune to see what the Winchesters will face next in every episode.

This season, the brothers are facing an enemy unlike any they have been up against before. The Darkness, being an ancient story long before the angels, their knowledge about their new foe is definitely much limited, and the brothers are forced to take it day by day and perhaps go into a trial-and-error mode before finally defeating it. The fact that Dean is also somehow bound to the Darkness makes it a tricky situation for the Winchesters since it hasn't exactly been explained how the two are directly connected.

Jensen Ackles, who plays Dean, clarifies the situation in an interview with TVLine, he says, "It's not like a voodoo doll (or "twinsies," as Jared Padalecki jokes) or anything like that." This is perhaps a good idea for fans to know since it means that the boys can "hurt" (if it's even possible) The Darkness and it wouldn't put Dean in the same danger. However, Ackles does say that his character Dean is confused with how this is all connected, "I don't think that he knows what to make of it. What it all means and how it's all going to tie into his destiny and his future and what that means for the brothers, he's very nervous about. Obviously, those nerves are something that he's going to be hiding, but we will see it get fleshed out a bit."

Furthermore, Ackles also mentions about Sam's story line with the reaper, Billie (Lisa Berry). He says that his character Dean will also be having an encounter with Billie. He doesn't give away too much but he has teased that it can become intense. Ackles states, "To be honest… we have not shot those scenes yet, so I don't know how intense it's going to be. But I'm excited to work with her."

Season 11 of "Supernatural" airs every Wednesday on The CW.
