'Supernatural' Season 12 News and Updates: Will it Be Jared Padelecki's Last Season? Release Date, Plot and Cast

"Supernatural" Season 12 has officially started its production with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The series has been successful for 11 years now and in this season Sam (Jared Padalecki) is missing which may possibly mean that it might be the last for Jared Padalecki.

The Longest Running Series

The show has always been consistent and is never on the verge of being cancelled in the years that it has been running. In fact, there have been more characters added to the latest season. In the recently held San Diego Comic Con, it was announced that Rick Springfield will be joining the cast as a vessel for Lucifer to be in the real world.

In the trailer that was presented, Mary Winchester (Samantha Smith) came back while Sam remained missing. There are also reports that Mary will be abducted by the Men of Letters in Season 12 which could mean that the three main characters will have different plots in the show.

Furthermore, since Sam has remained missing as shown in the trailer for the twelfth season, it may be possible that Sam might be dead and that this instalment may be the end of Jared Padalecki's role in the series.

"Supernatural" is a horror series created by Eric Kripke and stars Padalecki and Ackles. The series has been running for 11 years and has become the longest-running series in North America.

What To Expect

Sam and Dean have been chasing monsters and ghosts for the entire run of the series and are still up to it until this latest season. In the 11th season finale episode, Sam went missing and that for the premiere episode of season 12, Dean will be looking for him and this time Mary, their mother, will be with him in looking for Sam.

Lady Antonia Bevell (Elizabeth Blackmore), who shot Sam in the finale episode of Season 11, may be the new villain in Season 12.

There will be more revelations in the upcoming season for the series and Dean will be dealing with his mother's come back. It has been years since Sam and Dean have not seen their mother and this time she comes back with Sam not around.

It has been confirmed that "Supernatural" Season 12 has started its production and will be released on CW Network in October 12, 2016. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision
