'Teen Wolf' season 5B spoilers, plot news: Gang gets back together; resurrection prevalent theme

The midseason finale of "Teen Wolf" ended with a cliff-hanger, as the last scene was of the Dread Doctors as they broke open a wall that revealed a painting of two creatures doing battle and they merely said success.

In the second half of the season, fans will get to see the return of the chimeras since they were revived by the new villain Theo so that they could be part of his new pack. The chimeras were the failed experiments of the Dread Doctors and are now the villains of the show. However, the love interests of the chimeras could remind them of their humanity and undo what the Dread Doctors did.

Executive producer Jeff Davis said that the second half of the season will be darker since there is a darkness that has settled over everyone. He also said that the prevalent theme for the season will be resurrection and that they are bringing the band back together.

He also said that the second half of the season will be like a clash of the titans with both packs in the middle of everything. He added that the creature in the painting is a creature that fans of the show have seen before. Furthermore, he teased that Lydia will have a bigger role next season and that her connection to the Dread Doctors will be important. He said she might be the one that thwarts the Dread Doctors plans.

The second half of the season will reveal the past of Parrish and how he became a hellhound. There will also be an episode that will focus on Kira and where she has been all this time.

Davis promises fans that all the burning questions they had after the summer finale will be answered in the upcoming season. He said that when they planned this, he thought that this season would be the last one. But he did say that the characters would not graduate yet by the end of the next season. He went on to add that they are treating the next season like a monster movie.

The second half of Teen Wolf is set to return in January of next year.
