'The Bachelorette' 2017 News: Rachel Lindsay Talks 'Pressure' as She Receives Advice from JoJo Fletcher

"The Bachelor" 2017 is still on the air but fans now have their eyes fixed on "The Bachelorette" 2017, Rachel Lindsay. The reality star recently talked about the pressures of being the first African-American lead star and how she's coping with all the drama.

Rachel first took the attention of America when she was chosen by Nick Viall to receive the First Impression Rose on episode one of the current "Bachelor" season. From then on, Rachel has become one of the most favored winners. Unfortunately, she was sent home this week.

On the other hand, fans knew before then that she had been chosen to be the next "Bachelorette." There have been fears that she may choose an African-American in the end but she quickly addressed the issue. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Rachel revealed that she will not be led by what others tell her.

"That is a very common question that I get from black people. Honestly, I don't want to go into this process with any preconceived notions or any pressures to do something for somebody else ... It's my journey in finding love," she said.

Rachel went on to explain that race won't get in the way of her "Bachelorette" 2017 journey. "And whether that person is black, white, red, whatever — it's my journey. I'm not choosing a man for America, I'm choosing a man for myself," she explained.

Although Rachel didn't get the happy ending she wished she would have with Nick in "The Bachelor" 2017, she is hoping to find true love when her season of "The Bachelorette" starts rolling. She revealed that she is looking forward to a "more diverse cast."

Rachel revealed that she is getting all the support she needs from her family and her legal job. Rachel is a lawyer and she says her boss at the law firm loves the show. Her father, on the other hand, who is a big name in her town and is also a federal judge, is supportive even if he wasn't shown during the hometown visits.

Meanwhile, former "Bachelorette" JoJo Fletcher gave some piece of advice to the incoming lead star. According to Extra, JoJo said Rachel should not allow her heart to "get carried away" especially since she's a lawyer and is obviously smart.

"The Bachelorette" 2017 has yet to kick off production.
