'The Originals' Season 4 Spoilers, News: Cami's Shocking Return Explained

Fans are still questioning why Cami appeared in the trailer for "The Originals" season 4. It appears that fans are being led to believe something else. Showrunner Michael Narducci recently spoke up about the matter.

Sitting down with Entertainment Weekly, Narducci explained that the series will answer every question fan has. It appears that Cami's appearance in the trailer is connected to "what was going on psychologically" with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) over the past years after Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) put him under the curse of Papa Tunde's blade.

"It gets into the question of once someone comes into your life and influences you in that kind of way, are they ever really separate from you or are they always a part of you?" Narducci said.

While Narducci did not directly reveal if Cami (Leah Pipes) has officially returned from the dead, he did imply that Klaus may just be imagining that Cami has returned to help save his soul. Narducci explained that Cami is someone who has had a "massive impact" on the series especially Klaus.

Since fans will see Klaus being tormented in "The Originals" season 4, it's only reasonable that he is starting to have delusional thoughts. In the trailer, fans can see that he calls out to Cami. It appears that Cami's appearance may have been a product of Klaus' psychological battles.

Meanwhile, spoilers for the new season tease that Marcel will be faced with a threat once "The Originals" season 4 premieres. A new vampire clan will appear in New Orleans and Marcel will be tricked to welcome them nicely at first.

It remains to be seen if Klaus will already be free from Papa Tunde's curse by the time the new vampires appear. However, it was previously confirmed that Klaus will be freed in the long run. Would his daughter, Hope (Summer Fontana), have something to do with her dad's freedom? After all, she is by far the most promising hybrid in New Orleans.

"The Originals" season 4 premieres March 17 on The CW.
