'The Strain' Season 2 Finale Spoilers and Episode 12 Recap: Will Eph Escape from New York?

The season finale of "The Strain" is titled "Night Train," and the official synopsis reads, in the season 2 finale, Setrakian and Fet fight for possession of the Occido Lumen and get help from a surprising source. Also, Eph, Nora, and Zack face a massive attack as they try to escape from New York.

In the promo for the finale, it looks like Kelly will return and she could be responsible for the attack on Eph, Nora, and Zack. Setrakian swore to get the Lumen or die trying since their truck was blindsided by a big Mack truck. It is unclear who was in the truck, but an army of strigoi had stormed into the truck. There will be an epic showdown between Mr. Quinlan and Eichorst in the final episode.

The preceding episode began at a CDC conference in 2005. Eph had Jim Kent review his speech and Jim told him not to be so condescending if he does not like the questions and said to try a little natural charm. Eph talked about SARS and said that they were not ready for how fast it moved and that they were lucky that was not more virulent. He said that the lesson was that these things move fast. Nora was there and she debated with Eph. Later on, after the talk, Eph offered Nora a job.

In the present day, Nora eyed Eph but she does not say anything. She answered the phone and she wrote something down. She hung up and Zack asked her who called. She said that his grandparents were alive and living in Georgia. Zack talked to his grandmother and he cried.

Fet ended things with Dutch, who went back to Nikki. Meanwhile, Gus and Angel went to Rikers Island and they freed the only gang that was not infected. Nikki left with her mother for good. Eph, Nora, and Zack were getting ready to leave. The episode ended with Gus talking to Quinlan about taking the book from Abe.

The finale will air on Sunday.
