'Thor: Ragnarok' News, Cast, Spoilers: A Key Female Villain May Appear

As Marvel enters Phase 3 of its cinematic universe, it is already expected that many superheroes will be introduced in addition to the several heroes that are already well known in the Avengers. Furthermore, bigger and worse villains are more likely coming as well as the movies build up to the ultimate face-off in "Avengers: Infinity Wars." The latest rumor according to Lainey Gossip is that Marvel will not only be putting the spotlight on the uncanny pairing of Thor and The Hulk in the third installment of the Thor movie, "Thor: Ragnarok," but will even be introducing its first major female villain.

Marvel has definitely had a number of female antagonists in its source material, however it will be the first time that one will be portrayed on-sccreen. Screen Rant reports that there are currently four options to who this could be. First is Knorda, who is queen of the Mountain Giants, as well as a strong warrior of Asgard. Second is Enchantress, who may have the same name as the member of DC's "Suicide Squad" but has entirely different capabilities. Bearing the real name, Amora, her magical powers have earned her the title as one most dangerous vaillains of Thor. Third is Hela, who was originally written as Loki's daughter with the Asgardian goddess of Death, but since Marvel is no stranger to re-writing backstories of characters, it may happen as well for Hela. Finally, there is also the overseer of Asgardian destinies Kamila, who is also the queen of the Norns. She will be connected to the Enchantress as she becomes Enchantress' teacher.

With the choices laid out, it seems that the Enchantress is on top of the list. This will definitely set her apart from the usual male-dominated genre of superhero movies. Whoever it will be, Marvel's goal for diversity will definitely make things more interesting for the fans of Marvel when Phase 3 kicks off.
