'Toy Story 4' spoilers: Love story between Woody and Bo-Peep

The fourth installment in the smash "Toy Story" franchise is still a few years away, and yet rumors are already swirling about the upcoming movie. The film is the sequel to the movie "Toy Story 3" and takes place after the events of the previous film.

The film will be directed by John Lasseter, who also directed the first two "Toy Story" movies, as well as "Cars" and "Cars 2." The movie will open a new chapter in the lives of Buzz and Woody and the rest of the "Toy Story" gang. However, no cast members have been announced yet. But it is safe to assume that Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will return.

The writing team for the movie has already been assembled. The story has been developed by "Toy Story" veterans John Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter, and Lee Unkrich, alongside Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. Pixar's Galyn Susman will produce the film.

John Lasseter is really excited about the upcoming movie. "We love these characters so much; they are like family to us. We don't want to do anything with them unless it lives up to or surpasses what's gone before. 'Toy Story 3' ended Woody and Buzz's story with Andy so perfectly that for a long time, we never even talked about doing another 'Toy Story' movie. But when Andrew, Pete, Lee and I came up with this new idea, I just could not stop thinking about it. It was so exciting to me, I knew we had to make this movie — and I wanted to direct it myself," he said.

The movie will be a romantic one since it will dive into the continuing love story of Bo-Peep and Woody. Lasseter said that the fans will get to know more about Bo-Peep's backstory, which was never explored in the previous films. The backstory is actually based on his wife Nancy's real life.

Bo-Peep will be going through an emotional journey in the forthcoming film. When fans last saw her, she was merely a memory since she was sold off with the other toys. Woody and Buzz will embark on a journey to find her. Lasseter said that they are trying to build Bo-Peep into a strong character.

"Toy Story 4" will premiere on June 16, 2017.
