Tripp Roth Dies in Mother's Arms

Tripp Roth, a two-year-old who battled epidermolysis bullosa (EB) has died. His mother, Courtney Roth, broke the news to people captivated by his story on Saturday.

Roth wrote on her website, “Tripp’s death happened within minutes of me picking him up out of bed and rocking him. He took his last peaceful breaths in my arms, in his most favorite spot.” She started a blog, “EBing a Mommy” to document her personal struggle and Tripp’s battle with EB; it has received over 3 million hits, according to reports.

Tripp was diagnosed with EB, which is a disorder that causes blisters to develop in response to minor injury or even temperature change. Those with EB suffer from blisters around their eyes and noses as well as in their mouths and throats; skin grafts are commonly used as treatment for the disorder.

Roth hopes Tripp’s life and death will touch others; Facebook pages have been dedicated to the boy and have received well over 50,000 “likes” and many more comments from supporters.
