Tyler Perry Wants Marriage: 'I'm Very Much in Love,' He Says

Tyler Perry has spoken out about his current relationship and while he did not confirm the identity of his current partner, he did confirm his plans for marriage.

"Listen, I'm very much in love. I'm very much in love. And she loves me. I don't talk about it. We don't talk about it. And it's just that if I give that up, I don't have anything else," Perry told S2S Magazine.

"I swear to you I will be married and probably have kids before anybody knows it," he added.

The 42-year-old screenwriter, renowned for creating highly successful African-American films, is reportedly engaged to New York model Gelila Bekele, although Perry has not confirmed reports.

Perry's plans for marriage come after news that singer Whitney Houston died of a suspected drug overdose in Beverly Hills on Saturday while preparing for Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party.

Perry is said to have offered his private jet plane to Houston's family, who will reportedly use it to transport Houston's body to New Jersey, where the 48-year-old is originally from, according to TMZ.

Houston battled years of drug abuse throughout her adult life, and Perry also struggled with a form of abuse which he once openly discussed on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

"It allowed me to feel like I wasn't an awful person, I wasn't dirty. That I deserved to be loved and I can love," Perry said about experience with sexual abuse.

Perry explained that even though sharing his sexual abuse experiences led some to speculate about his sexuality, he had no regrets and doing so helped him find solace.

"About four or five months ago, I ran into an ex of mine. We were crazy in love. It was crazy, crazy love between the two of us. It was insane. We had a conversation after the 'Oprah' thing and everything. And it was healing for both of us because I know that, had I not done the show, she and I probably would have never spoken again," Perry said.
