UFO Hoax Video to End All Hoaxes: What's Real? (VIDEO)

The most recent UFO video to capture users' attention could also be the hoax video to end all UFO hoax videos.

Posted by visual effects specialist Aristomenis Tsirbas last year, the UFO hoax been getting more attention in recent weeks. The 39-second video reveals what computer generated imagery is capable of, says Tsirbas.

In this video, looks can be deceiving. Viewers witness a driver heading down a dessert road in the sunset when a spacecraft suddenly appears. While many point out that the spacecraft is likely fake, what people failed to realize was that the whole scene was fake, says Tsirbas.

"The point of the video was to prove that CGI can look natural and convincing," he told Wired during a recent interview. "Everybody assumes the background and car are real, and that the UFOs are probably fake, especially the over-the-top mothership at the end."

The background and car aren't real either, despite arguments against it.

"The general reaction is disbelief, so I usually have to prove it by showing a wireframe of the entire shot to prove that nothing is real," Tsirbas added.

Titled "UFO Over Santa Clarita," the hoax UFO is not one of Tsirbas' biggest projects. Also a film director, producer, writer, animator and visual effects animator, Tsirbas keeps his hands full. He help to develop visual effects on films like "Titanic" and "Hellboy," according to Yahoo. He also directed his own 2009 film, "Battle for Tera." He also has experience in developing spacecraft after working on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine."
