March Madness 2017 continues on Thursday with a game between UNC Wilmington Seahawks and Virginia Cavaliers. The game has a scheduled start time of 12.40 p.m. ET and takes place from Amway Center in Orlando. The game can be watched on TV on the truTV network or online through free live stream (details below).

The Virginia Cavaliers come into today's opener following a 22-10 season, and have been given the No. 5 seed position for March Madness 2017. In this First Round game in the East Region they will have to navigate a way past UNC Wilmington Seahawks, who themselves had a strong 29-5 season and have been seeded No. 12.

Virginia reached the quarter finals of the conference tournament, and sixth in the ACC. Their success has been largely based upon a strong defensive unit, and a reliance on senior point guard London Perrantes, who is averaging 12.5 ppg.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are in their second straight NCAA tournament and they will be desperate to keep their dream going beyond today's First Round match up.

UNC Wilmington powered their way through the CAA, and handily won the regular season and conference tournament titles. They have won 18 of their last 21 games and are on a seven game win streak.

On paper they are the in-form team, as Virginia were looking strong at 16-3 in January, but they have since finished off the regular season with a 6-7 record, and look to be struggling somewhat for consistency and form recently.

However, when it comes to historic experience, the Seahawks have only been in the NCAA tournament six times in all, where as the Cavaliers are making their 21st March Madness tournament appearance.

Virginia went all the way to the Elite Eight last season before finally losing to Syracuse, but that year they were No. 1 seeds. They will be hoping they can recapture their early season form to go far in this year's tournament.

UNC Wilmington Seahawks and Virginia Cavaliers will tip off from 12.40 p.m. ET, and the game can be watched on TV on the truTV network or online through free live stream by clicking here.
