'Wayward Pines' News: Get Ready for An 'All-Out War' Season Finale

There will be bloodbath on the season finale of Fox's hit TV drama series "Wayward Pines."

Titled "Cycle," the episode is touted to bring down a massive chaos between the fearsome Abbies and the terrified residents of the titular town. In the penultimate episode, "Reckoning," Ethan (Matt Dillon) took the chance of executing Kate (Carla Gugino) to actually reveal the truth to everyone about who Dr. Jenkins (Toby Jones) really is. The now revealed Dr. Pilcher responds to Ethan's act by shutting down the power which in turn made the town vulnerable to the attacks of the mutated humans.

Speaking on a behind-the-scene video promo for the episode, Shannyn Sossamon (as Theresa Burke) said that Pilcher decided to "murder all the townspeople because the experiment went wrong and he wants to try again."

Gugino chimed in to say that "in the final episode, everything will come to the surface, big time!"

"It's all-out war. Kate loads up and she's got machine guns, she's got pistols … she is ready," the actress teased further that "everything is deconstructing, everything is falling apart and we really don't know who is going to survive."

Charlie Tahan (as Ben) joined in to say that fans will find the season ender with "a lot of gunfire, a lot of Abbies … not too many survivors."

Meanwhile, an official synopsis of the episode was shared at International Business Times and it reads:

"After Pilcher decides to turn off the electricity in Wayward Pines – with deadly repercussions – Ethan and Kate take the initiative to make sure everyone is out of harm's way. Meanwhile, Nurse Pam confronts Pilcher on his decision and tries to convince him to reconsider, Ethan and Kate plan for an attack and the first generation tries to protect the future of Wayward Pines by taking matters into their own hands in the all-new 'Cycle' season finale episode."

Catch all the action and drama when "Wayward Pines" Season Finale airs this Thursday, July 23, at 9 p.m. on Fox.
