A much as the finale of the second season left the town in rumble, this goes as well to the series' third season. As of this time, there has been no release date from Fox for Wayward Pines Season 3.

When the second season ended, it was not certain what will happen to the human race. Abbies flooded the town and ran over them and now, what may happen next? Viewers are hopeful for a third season to find the answers.

In a recent report, Fox has not yet announced a third season due to the last season's ratings. It got a rating that is way below the average of the series. This also means that the recent episodes shown were not good enough.

It has also been reported that the series is a three-season story. In fact executive producer M. Night Shyamalan stated that it is a three-season story and when the third season is finally shared to viewers, the story of "Wayward Pines" will be over.

The History

The first season of the series starred Matt Dillon who was an FBI agent working at Wayward Pines and was not able to leave the town. The Abbies were discovered outside the fence of Wayward Pines in this season.

The Abbies attacked the town in the second season and took over the human race. Shyamalan stated that in the first season, the Abbies were introduced in the series and that what it was in the show is not really what it is but more. The second season on the other hand speak more about the Abbies. Furthermore, the third season is expected to give fans more twists in the story.

"Wayward Pines" is a novel by Blake Crouch and has been adapted for a television series. Executive producers of the show are Chad hodge and M. Night Shyamalan. "Wayward Pines" Season 1 was first released on May 14, 2015 in Fox and ended on July 23, 2015. The second season was renewed in December 9, 2015, and premiered on May 25 up until July 27, 2016. Fans are hoping for the coming of a third season.
