'X-Files' Series Revival News: Original Cast Member David Duchovny 'More Than Happy' to Return

Ever since the talk about the revival of the popular science fiction horror drama series "The X-Files" went out, fans are wondering if the show will once again see the acts of its original stars. This recent developments can be good news as a main cast member stepped up to confirm the report.

According to USA Today, actor David Duchovny is more than ready to take up his famous role of the FBI Special Agent Fox Mulder.

As revealed by the news publication through their interview with the 54-year-old "Californication" star, Duchovny admitted that he's "more than happy and excited to bring it back and do it again with (co-star) Gillian (Anderson) and (series creator) Chris (Carter)."

Speaking further about the project, Duchovny went on to posit that it would be more likely that the show will be presented as a miniseries, just like what Fox did with "24."

"I'm assuming that it will happen sooner rather than later now. We'll see what form, how many (episodes). Certainly I can't nor would I be interested in doing a full season. It will be in some kind of limited form. We're all old, we don't have the energy for a full season," he said.

Duchovny is currently tied up with NBC for the network's new series, "Aquarius" where he plays a homicide detective.

"The X-Files," created by Chris Carter, spanned for about nine seasons from 1993 to 2002. Mulder, despite his logical take on things, is a believer of the existence of aliens and the paranormal. His partner Scully, meanwhile, is responsible in putting sense to everything that isn't normal for them.
