Xbox One to Let Games Customize Controllers with NFL-Themed Designs

Microsoft is giving its loyal fans the chance to show their support for their favorite NFL teams when playing the Xbox One.

Destructoid reported that the gaming giant, via its Xbox Design Lab, is now offering a new option where gamers can customize their Xbox One controllers with logos of the NFL teams they are supporting. The new offer covers all the 32 NFL teams, including the powerhouse clubs as well as the cellar dwellers.

The downside, however, is the customization requires players to shell out $95, which is $15 more than the usual charge for Xbox Design Lab controller customization. Moreover, players who are looking to have a better feel through rubberized grips will have to pay $6 more.

The logos are neatly placed over the white controller, which makes the designs pop. According to the Xbox Design Lab website, the cost for each controller already includes the engraving of the designs, as well as the shipping fees. Gamers who are looking to enjoy a different-looking controller will have to settle for the dominant white finish, as the NFL wanted to maintain a standard look, according to Gamespot.

The customization service was launched in 2016, first in the United States. It was eventually offered in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom, Germany, and France. Apart from the NFL logos, the controllers also come with other key features such as Bluetooth, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and a range of up to 40 feet for the Xbox One X.

In addition, the controllers are also compatible with Windows 7, 8.1, and 10 play; as well as the Xbox One Play & Charge Kit, Chat Headset, Stereo Headset, Chatpad, the official description noted. The NFL partnered with Microsoft, with the latter becoming the league's official game console.

The tech and gaming giant reportedly paid $400 million on a five-year-deal to provide "exclusive interactive experiences for Xbox One and Surface."
