'Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links' News: Best Strategy Against the Exodia Event
Konami mobile game "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links" was released last Nov. 26 in Japan, but it was only released worldwide on Jan. 11. The game has been successful so far with a reported 20 million downloads within two months after its first release.
"Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links" works like the physical card trading game, but there are a few tweaks such as the removal of Main Phase 2, a reduced number of monsters and spell places, and the new 4000 life points for each player.
The card characters are based on the animated series "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters," and players can choose to play either as Yami Yugi or Seto Kaiba. More characters will be made available as a player continues to win duels and unlock more items.
A new Exodia Event was also incorporated in the game, where players compete in building a deck that could quickly call on the Forbidden One.
The Exodia Event, however, currently favors "Grandpa's Cards," an ability that allows players to place five pieces in one deck, but other decks are also playable to counter this strategy.
There are several strategies to successfully build an Exodia counter-deck, and the most effective ones are the Beatdown decks.
These are the types of decks that immediately calls on strong monsters that will also consequently lower an opponent's lifepoints. Some of the most popular ones are the Rex and Mako Tsunami decks, which can also be used with Jurassic World or Umi on deck.
In other news, the community of "Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links" agree that the easiest deck to put together is Rex Raptor's Dinosaur Kingdom. It is reportedly a solid and safe strategy that works everytime, and this requires the Jurassic World spell card.
The deck will also need at least two monsters in full sets - three cards each for a Two-Headed King Rex and Crawling Dragon #2.
