ZTE Axon Specs, Release Date: New ZTE Flagship Device Hits US Market, Costs $450

Announced almost a month ago, the ZTE Axon is now available on ZTE's official website in the U.S. and Canada. It is also available on Amazon, Newegg and eBay.

According to the report by GSM Arena, the Android-powered mobile device made its debut earlier this week as ZTE Axon Pro, in contrast to simply ZTE Axon, which was announced in China a couple of weeks ago.

For Android fans who are interested in the device, the smartphone packs a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a whopping QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) resolution, a Snapdragon 810 chipset, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in memory. While the smartphone does not come with a microSD card slot, ZTE made sure the other specs are still top-notch.

Other specs include a 13MP primary camera with autofocus and a dual-LED flash, and there is an 8MP selfie shooter in front that can possibly record 1080p videos. Rounding up the specs sheet is a Adreno 430 GPU, an octal-core CPU, a 3,000mAh battery that is non-removable and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box.

In the report, the ZTE Axon Pro's retail price is $450, although there are some retailers that are charging more or less than that, depending on their promos.

Meanwhile, the Chinese version of the device only gets a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, though it makes up for it with a fingerprint sensor that supports Force Touch technology.
