'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess' HD Remaster Arriving March 2016 On Wii U
Fans of the high-fantasy adventure video game series "The Legend of Zelda" have been waiting for news about the next game in the series for the Wii U console, which was originally announced during the E3 in 2014 and supposedly released in 2015. "The Legend of Zelda" for Wii U, however, has been delayed to a yet unknown release date in 2016. Nintendo recently announced that another "Legend of Zelda" game is in fact coming come to the Wii U in March 2016 and it is the HD remaster of the 2006 "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess." According to a report in Ars Technica, Nintendo made the announcement during a Nintendo Direct live video presentation in mid-November.
According to the report, the game will be an updated version of the game that was first released in 2006, originally for the GameCube and Wii home video game consoles. Like other "Legend of Zelda" games, the main protagonist is Link, who is determined to stop Hyrule from being swallowed up by a parallel dimension called the Twilight Realm. In the game, he becomes a Hylian, an elf-like creature, in order to fit in among the Hylians of Hyrule, as well as a wolf. A magical creature named Midna aids him in his quests.
Another report in MoviePilot said that the game is "an underrated game." When it was released in 2006, it was well-received and critically-acclaimed. The report also noted that the game is darker and more violent than other "Zelda" games that came before it. Compared to the recent HD remaster, "Wind Waker," the "Twilight Princess" features a narrative that is more mature, and with it, a world that is darker than usual.
Being an HD remaster, the game's visuals will be getting a boost that is at par with current Wii console technology. According to the game's trailer, aside from being a "prettier version" of the game, it will also bring with it a new amiibo figure called Wolf Link.
The game and the new amiibo figure will be launched on March 4, 2016.
