'The Walking Dead' Cast News: Melissa McBride Talks Undercover Strategy and the Threat Inside Alexandria

Rick and and the rest of the group in the hit post-apocalyptic drama TV series "The Walking Dead" have found a home in Alexandria. Or have they?

Cast member Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, talked about the show – her character being part of the Alexandrian people and her going undercover. McBride said that like the fans, she too became quite suspicious with how the seemingly perfect town appears to be.

"It was kind of like, 'Now tell me this again? You're building a city in the middle of the town where we shoot?' I know that area, it's just beautiful. I asked where base camp would be, and it was right there. I was like, 'Wow, this is convenient and clean. Where's this going? Hmm.' It was kind of exciting but the comfort was just … weird. As weird as it was for these characters," she told Variety.

After what the group has been through, it's quite understandable for the survivor to feel quite a bit apprehensive with the town's peaceful and perfect situation. But in order to find out the truth, she must go undercover.

"After all we've been through, this could be a really good way for her to find out what's going on (in Alexandria) and to be the kind of person nobody sees as a threat," she said.

She went on to dish out that just like their previous encounters with the Terminus community, it's really the people, not the walkers, who can be the greatest threat to their lives.

"There's still a threat out there, and not just the walkers. People can be the biggest threat," she explained.

"The Walking Dead" continues to air this Suday at 9 p.m. on AMC.
