While not explicitly faith-based, this sweeping science-fiction adventure stars Ryan Gosling as a middle-school science teacher sent on a mission to save humanity from extinction.
Based on Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir, the film emphasizes courage, sacrifice, curiosity and hope rather than dystopian despair. Gosling recently told The Christian Post he was drawn to the project because it offered meaningful themes his own children could watch alongside adults.
Its message that fear can be transformed into curiosity, and that humanity is capable of extraordinary things, makes it one of the summer's most uplifting family adventures.
